Nic has served as an Applicator, Field Sales Agronomist, Location Manager, Regional Operation Manager, and VP of Operations. Through Nic's career at CVA, he has experienced all aspects of the business, giving him great respect for CVA's culture. Nic McCarthy is the Senior Vice President of Agronomy. ![]() Jeff serves as a board member for the National Grain and Feed Association. Jeff returned to management in 2018 as VP of Grain for Frenchman Valley Co-op until he joined CVA in 2021. In 2014, Jeff joined Rich Connell Agri-Search and recruited talent for the grain industry. He served as Marketing Manager until 2002 when he was promoted to president. ![]() In 1999, he helped create AgMark LLC, a grain marketing organization based in North Central Kansas. From 1997-1999 he was the Grain Division Manager for Farmway Co-op, Inc. From 1987-1997, Jeff managed elevator operations in Kansas for two separate family-owned grain companies. Jeff's 30+ years career in the grain industry began in grain facility management with ConAgra's wheat milling division. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics. Throughout his youth, he took an active role in both 4-H and FFA and attributes a lot of his personal development to those organizations. He was raised on a diversified crop and livestock farm near Clay Center, KS. Fran and Chris are also blessed with a grandson, Ezra. They have two adult children, Derek and Renae (Matthew). He led the mergers and acquisitions projects and provided strategic and business consultation for CHS affiliates in SD and Western MN.įran and his wife Chris reside in Seward, NE. As the build-out of the ethanol industry subsided, Fran migrated towards an opportunity with CHS. Fran led the business analytics for new products and technologies within the corn and cellulosic ethanol industry. In addition, he completed a master’s degree in Business Administration from South Dakota State University while he worked full-time on a farming and agribusiness operation in Iowa.įollowing these experiences, he landed at POET Research in Sioux Falls, SD. He later attended Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, to achieve his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Information Technology. Growing up, Fran spent time working in these businesses and on farms in the area.Īfter high school, Fran attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD, earning an accounting degree. His family owned a wrecker manufacturing company and other auto-related businesses. His hobbies include enjoying time with his granddaughter, hunting, music, golf and fishing.įran Swain serves as the Chief Financial Officer at CVA.įran was born and raised in Kingsley, Iowa. He and his wife Dawn have two grown daughters, Cassie and Alexandra. Carl also serves on the Nebraska Cooperative Managers Association.Ĭarl grew up in Marquette, Neb. In addition to serving as President/CEO of CVA, Carl also serves on the Land O’ Lakes Board of Directors and has served on that board since 2020. and unifying with Henderson Co-op in Henderson, Neb., and Farmers and Ranchers Co-op in Ainsworth, Neb. Further unifications with FCC in Hinton, Iowa and Farmway Co-op in Beloit, Kansas followed. In 2009, Carl was named CEO of United Farmers Co-op in York, Neb., which unified with Central Valley Ag in 2014. His career began in 1993 at Battle Creek Farmers Co-op. He has served in management positions for 29 years in three different states within the cooperative system giving him a unique perspective on the roles of the local and regional cooperatives. As CEO, Carl is always focused on delivering value to the owners of the organization by reinvesting in assets, growing people and returning cash to the membership. Carl Dickinson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Central Valley Ag (CVA) cooperative.
